Alaíde do Feijão Restaurant is much more than a gastronomic space: it is a landmark of Black culture, memory, and resistance in Salvador. Founded by Alaíde da Conceição, a historic figure of the Black movement in Pelourinho, the restaurant has become an important meeting point for artists, intellectuals, activists, and political leaders, where stories, struggles, and achievements have been shared over the decades.
Today, this tradition remains alive and strong, carried forward with dedication by Alaíde’s three daughters and five granddaughters, who maintain the commitment to preserving the history, flavors, and values built over time.
